Paulina Solomon, LPC, NCC

Paulina is a counselor that works with individuals and families navigating various challenges in life. Through a collaborative counseling relationship, Paulina uses a humanistic approach in which she helps you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to empower you with awareness and ability to cope with life’s various challenges.

Paulina utilizes evidenced based child centered play therapy when working with children ages 3-10 and is working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. When working with adolescents, Paulina utilizes a client centered activity therapy approach using techniques such as expressive art therapies to aid in facilitating growth, healing, and coping. When working with individuals and couples 15 and older, Paulina provides talk therapy using expressive arts, sand tray, attachment-based techniques, and other evidenced based modalities to meet the unique needs of each counseling relationship.

Paulina specializes in working with children experiencing grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, and chronic or terminal illness. She also has experience working with individuals struggling with perinatal mental health concerns, self esteem issues, and attachment disruptions. Through her experiences working and interning at Denton County Friends of the Family, the UNT Center for Play Therapy, and Children’s Health Medical Center, Paulina has gained the experiences to facilitate coping and healing in individuals being impacted by a variety of life stressors. Paulina is passionate about collaborating with parents and caregivers to enhance relationships, strengthen attachments with their children, and support the therapy process through regular consultations and Child Parent Relationship Therapy.

Paulina earned her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree in the child/play therapy track from the University of North Texas, home to the largest play therapy training and research program in the world. Paulina earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Abilene Christian University.
